Job Opening Summary

The Clinical Documentation Coordinator, Workflow L1 position is a technical position involving the implementation and support of the UF Health Central Florida Community Provider access and IT tools. The coordinator is responsible for evaluating appropriate access needs for community providers and partnering with appropriate IT and UF Health teams to determine streamlined processes, tools and maintenance needs. Access, IT tools and processes will meet UF Health legal needs, as well as local, state and federal needs, and be set to ensure appropriate access levels. Responsibilities include project management, application testing, project communications, deployment planning and supporting end-user adoption. This position also investigates, troubleshoots and manages system issues, changes and coordination with appropriate IT resources for maintenance needs. This role is a liaison for all community physician practices and UF Health clinics and is responsible for supporting the physician practices in the use of UF Health IT solutions.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
  1. Develops and manages all phases of the UF Health community provider access plan.
  2. Reviews and drafts policies for operationalizing access needs within a specific health care setting, including auditing, risk management and health information management policies
  3. Develops functional requirements and related test plans, and conducts system and data validation in accordance with plans.
  4. Manages communications with vendors and participants across teams to ensure project timelines are met.
  5. Drafts and updates training materials to reflect changes in user interfaces and views.
  6. Conducts meetings with provider facilities to discuss project planning requirements and delivers system demos and presentations.
  7. Practices risk management, compliant with HIPAA and HITECH Act security and privacy requirements and state and local government regulations
  8. Provides support to community physicians and practices.
  9. Maintains positive attitude and cooperation with co-workers.
  10. Completes assigned work as scheduled in allotted time frame.
  11. Engages in departmental/hospital committees, PI projects, educational offerings to peers, and mentoring/precepting of new team members.
  12. Attends staff meetings and completes all required competencies and mandatory education as assigned.
  13. Seeks training, education, certification and enhancement in area focus/specialty.
  14. Completes other duties as requested/assigned.

Job Opening Qualifications

Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required
  • Must be able to read, write in, speak and understand English.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory.
  • Experience with enterprise remote connectivity systems.
  • Knowledge of HL7 data transmission standards.
  • 3+ years or more experience in a health care setting or with health information systems.
  • If applying from outside of department, 3 years with associate's degree or some college, 2 years with bachelor's degree.
