Job Opening Summary

The medical group registered nurse's responsibilities include pre-placement screening, drug-free workplace policy compliance, post-exposure and team member injury follow-up, annual health requirements, leave of absences and tracking.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

  1. Serves as a patient care advocate by providing comfort, privacy and support to the patient and communicates patient's needs to the provider.
  2. Able to identify deviations in vital signs outside of accepted parameters for specific patient practice populations. Deviations are reported to the appropriate licensed medical practitioner or provider.
  3. Coordinates and maintains practice schedule.
  4. Informs patients of practice delays, informs practice management as appropriate and monitors patient throughout visit.
  5. Facilitates room turnover and room preparation between patients.
  6. Medication-specific protocols are followed when appropriate.
  7. Knowledge of casting techniques and appropriate application as needed.
  8. Real-time documentation of medication administration is appropriately recorded in the patient's medical record and other databases as required.
  9. Maintains a patient-centered focus, providing cheerful, efficient, enthusiastic and positive service and ensuring the experience consistently exceeds patient expectations.
  10. Rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies and checked for expired items regularly.
  11. Safety risks are minimized through compliance with policies, procedures and protocols (temperature logs, etc.).
  12. Participates in float staff assistance when requested.
  13. Updates patient history, physical exam, plan of care and other pertinent health information in Epic as instructed by the provider.
  14. Organizes and sends all documentation to physician for review.
  15. Completes assigned work as scheduled in allotted time frame.
  16. Acts as a scribe as needed, taking notes during patient visits and documenting them in the electronic health records system.
  17. Demonstrates clinical care that is safe and follows best outcome practice with all core measures compliant.
  18. Documents care provision per departmental standards.
  19. Demonstrates compliance with all HCAHPS behaviors to allow patients to have an excellent experience.
  20. Completes assigned work as scheduled in allotted time frame.
  21. Engages in departmental/hospital committees, PI projects, educational offerings to peers and mentoring/precepting of new team members.
  22. Attends staff meetings and completes all required competencies and mandatory education as assigned.
  23. Seeks training, education, certification and enhancement in area focus/specialty.
  24. Demonstrates behavior standards that enhance positive interactions with physicians, peers, patients and family members.
  25. Completes other duties as requested/assigned.
     

Job Opening Qualifications

Education
  • Associate's degree

Licensure/Certification/Registration
  • Florida registered nurse license
  • BLS

Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required
  • Knowledge of team member and IC procedures/requirements, team member health, worker's compensation laws and regulations, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, HBOC and STIX.
  • Worker's compensation and employee health experience preferred.
  • Acute care experience preferred.
  • Discretion is required in the handling of confidential information.
  • Must be able to read, write in, speak and understand English.
